The AutoTram® Extra Grand at the IAA Commercial Vehicles

The AutoTram® Extra Grand currently does its laps on the DEKRA test track at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, working through the testing procedure to obtain a single vehicle approval. In past weeks, an increasing number of journalists and press representatives have been expressing their interest in this impressive vehicle. They are fascinated by its length, which raises several questions: How can a vehicle of this enormous size cope with the tight bends of city traffic? Is it a hazard to other traffic participants? How can the AutoTram® be maneuvered forward and reverse?

World’s Longest Bus Premieres in Dresden

On August 22nd, 2012, the new AutoTram® Extra Grand was presented to the public for the first time in the historic city center of Dresden. The premiere of »the world’s longest bus« attracted many visitors and press. Earlier in the afternoon, politicians and researchers visited the vehicle, including the German Minister of Education and Research Prof. Anette Schavan, the Saxon Prime Minister Stanislaw Tillich and Prof. Reimund Neugebauer, director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU.

Off to the Office aboard the AutoTram®
